Dr. Gutta grew up in India and moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue higher education. After completing the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE), Dr. Gutta attended Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Veterinary Medicine to complete his clinical rotations. Dr. Gutta also earned a Master’s Degree in Animal Science from the University of Georgia (UGA).
Following his clinical rotations at LSU Veterinary School, Dr. Gutta obtained his Florida State license to practice veterinary medicine in Florida.
Before beginning his career at St. John's, Dr. Gutta practiced as an associate veterinarian for Banfield Pet Hospital for more than 10 years. During this time, he gained a reputation for being very personable and taking the time to educate clients on their pet’s health. As an associate veterinarian, Dr. Gutta gained extensive experience with many soft tissue surgeries and continued to practice high-quality veterinary medicine.
Dr. Gutta joined St. John's Pet Hospital in March 2016 after his wife, Dr. Sri, decided to work part-time to raise their three children. His professional interests include wellness and preventive care, senior pet care, and nutrition counseling for both dogs and cats. Dr. Gutta has particular interests in canine and feline medicine, endocrine cases, skin cases, nutrition, and behavior. Dr. Gutta is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society (JVMS).
In his free time, Dr. Gutta enjoys spending time with his family and personal pets. He especially enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening, swimming, and playing tennis.
Dr. Gillen was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Jacksonville when he was 12 years old. Growing up, Dr. Gillen knew; he wanted to be a veterinarian because it puts together the two things he loves most—animals and people. Dr. Gillen graduated in 2019 from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Gillen completed a one-year rotating internship at Capital Veterinary Specialists here in Jacksonville to gain more knowledge and experience in specialty care before moving into general practice. Dr. Gillen has a particular interest in dermatology and has researched specifically in canine atopic dermatitis and leishmaniasis. While completing his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gillen co-authored a research paper that has been accepted for and is currently in the publication process.
Naimah has been with the St. John's Family for over five years. She is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, and moved here when she was 21 years old. Naimah has been in veterinary medicine since 2012 and enjoys every aspect of her career.
Morgan is originally from New York/Arizona. She’s been a veterinary technician for a few years now. She plans to stay in veterinary medicine and continue to hone and advance her skills. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the nursing aspect and constant learning the career provides. She has a four-legged son named Archie, who she loves very much. If she could choose to be any animal, it would be a panda!
Gabe is a Jacksonville native that has been with the St. John's Family for almost three years. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is learning about different disease processes and how to treat them. If Gabe could be any animal, he would be Panda because he loves to relax and eat during his time off !
Dr. Sri graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) veterinary college in India in 2004. She moved to the United States in 2005 after getting married to Dr. Gutta, who is also a practicing veterinarian with St. John's Pet Hospital.
Dr. Sri successfully completed the Educational Equivalency Assessment Certification program, administered by American Veterinary Medical Council. Dr. Sri began working at Clay County Humane Society and stayed with them for more than two years. During this time, she gained an extensive amount of experience in both medical and surgical cases. Following her time at the Humane Society, Dr. Sri established San Marco Animal Hospital in 2010, where she worked for almost four years as the primary veterinarian.
When her children were ready to attend elementary school, Dr. Sri’s family moved to St. John's county for their highly ranked school districts. In 2014, she opened St. John's Pet Hospital & Grooming in St. John's Creek Shopping Center, on CR 210, in St. John's County.
Dr. Sri’s practice philosophy is focused on providing personalized client care and excellent client service. Her professional interests include preventive veterinary medicine for cats and dogs, internal medicine, Endocrinology, and Dermatology. Dr. Sri’s family includes her husband, Dr. Gutta, two daughters, a son, two orange tabby cats (Romeo and Maggie), and a yellow lab (Spencer). In her small amount of free time, Dr. Sri enjoys gardening and visiting national and state parks.
